The largest lake in the world

The Caspian sea (salt lake) is the largest lake in the world, it is located in the western Asia on the eastern edges of Europe, it's surface area is 371,000 sq km (143,200 sq mi). the maximum depth is at 1025 m (3,363 ft) . And average depth is 187 m (610 ft), maximum width is 435 km (270 mi).The Caspian sea is surrounded by Russia , Azerbaijan , Iran , Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan. 
Q : It is a lake then why called a sea?.
A : It is called a sea because the Romans found it salty, especially
in the southern reaches and the name stuck, it is actually a lake.
